In the book of Exodus, God frees Israel from slavery and oppression in Egypt.  From dehumanising tyranny, they experience the tenderness of God and the freedom of life together in God’s family. In a world intoxicated by power, Exodus invites us to rest in God’s promise and to live in a community shaped by God’s mercy.
