The links below will let you watch back the live stream from our Sunday morning services.  The videos include songs (with words, so you can follow along and join in), readings, prayers, and reflections.  You will find it helpful to have a bible in front of you.

On the road with Jesus: Luke 9:51-19:27

When we pay attention to Jesus’ life and ministry, there is no shortage of extraordinary moments: miracles, confrontations, and teaching.  Yet many of these moments occur in the context of seemingly accidental encounters.

Jesus does not look for an audience so he can put on a show.  He is not like the politician who looks for any opportunity to crowbar that day’s talking points into the public consciousness. Many of Jesus’ most memorable, loved, and haunting words, emerge in the context of conversations where Jesus has been put on the spot by someone else.

In this series, we eavesdrop on some of Jesus’ conversations, on the road, as recorded in Luke’s gospel.  Questions – sincere or insincere; problems – serious or trivial, were routinely thrown his way, by all sorts of people: sceptics and enthusiasts, the complacent and the desperate.  As we pay attention to what Jesus says, as we attempt, in some way, to enter into these conversations, we too can encounter Jesus for ourselves.
