Vacancy – Church Facilitator
Role
This is a newly created role with overall responsibility for the operations and administration of the Church. This is a wide-ranging and exciting role, with a view to enabling the Church to work towards its Purpose and Values. The role will require:
- A professional and disciplined approach, maintaining high standards of organisational efficiency
- A proactive approach to administration, communication and property-related tasks
A list of the main duties and tasks is appended in the job description. The successful candidate will manage one employee and will work closely with the ministry team, elders, and Church members.
Skills & Experience required
Essential
- An analytical mind, capable of understanding issues, evaluating options and proposing recommendations
- Ability to own administrative, technical and compliance issues and communicate with people in a clear and understandable manner
- Well organised, efficient and disciplined
- Excellent IT skills especially Microsoft Office
- Knowledge and understanding of using social media for communication
- Ability to manage and motivate people (one employee, property caretaker) and to engage effectively with Church leaders and members
- Ability to understand risk and create controls to manage those risks
- High integrity and openness
- Team player, committed to working with and for the Church, and to supporting its wider goals
Desirable
- Knowledge and understanding of charities, OSCR and charity compliance issues
- Knowledge and understanding of the Church of Scotland and its Presbyterian structure
- Project management experience
The role is 15 hours per week, with the potential for a flexible working pattern to be agreed with the Line Manager. Primarily based at Partick Trinity Church (home working during Covid-19 restrictions).
