Sunday catch-up: Undivided – the gospel in James
We live divided lives. What we display before others is not what we know to be true inside. Our actions conflict with our professed intentions. Our loyalties are in tension. We are pulled in more than one direction. As a consequence, we work very hard to hold everything together.
The letter of James is realistic about this dividedness. He calls it out, and he summons us into a way of life that is undivided. He recognises that the gospel – the good news about Jesus Christ – offers wholeness and completeness and challenges us to live into that.
